GC – QSNCC Expand “From Kitchen to Creation” as Thailand’s First World-Class Convention Center Joins the Initiative, Collecting Used Cooking Oil from Restaurants into Biorefinery to Reduce Fossil-Based Feedstock Use

Bangkok – April 28, 2026 – PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, or GC, a global leading chemical company and Thailand’s first commercial producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), announced a collaboration with N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd. (NCC), operator of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), a world-class convention center in Thailand, to build on the “From Kitchen to Creation” project. This partnership marks the first participation by a world-class convention center in Thailand, collecting used cooking oil (UCO) from on-site restaurants for conversion at GC’s biorefinery into SAF and other high-value bio-based products —helping reduce reliance on fossil-based feedstocks.
This expansion brings the initiative into a new ecosystem—large-scale convention and hospitality venues—with strong potential to systematically collect and repurpose used cooking oil. As a world-class convention center hosting international events and serving high volumes of visitors daily, QSNCC provides an ideal platform for efficient UCO collection from its restaurants, enabling seamless integration into GC’s biorefinery value chain in a structured and scalable manner.
Ms. Ratchada Sawasdirak, Senior Vice President – Refinery Business Unit, GC, said, “This collaboration between GC and QSNCC marks another significant step in connecting the strengths of the industrial sector with the capabilities of a world-class service platform. It further strengthens GC’s success as Thailand’s first commercial producer of SAF by using used cooking oil as feedstock in the production process, which can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 85% compared with conventional aviation fuel. This feedstock can also be further utilized to produce high-value bio-based chemicals and bioplastics.”
Mr. Surapol Utintu, Chief Executive Officer, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), said, “QSNCC is committed to creating long-term value across economic, social, and environmental dimensions by embedding sustainability into every aspect of our operations. The ‘From Kitchen to Creation’ initiative reflects our approach to converting used cooking oil from our operations into clean energy, while ensuring that other forms of waste are effectively managed and repurposed to generate broader environmental and social benefits.”
“We also continue to collaborate with partners across sectors to minimize food waste and promote proper waste segregation among our staff, clients, suppliers, and visitors—ensuring that resources are managed efficiently and landfill waste is reduced to the lowest possible level,” he added.
This approach emphasize the value of cross-sector collaboration in advancing the circular economy. Through strong partnerships, post-consumer resources can be systematically connected to new value creation, helping build a more integrated and sustainable ecosystem.
