GC Restarts Olefins Plant 4 as Planned, Gradually Delivers Feedstock Supply for Plastic Resin Production

Bangkok – 3 April 2026 – PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) has resumed operations of its Olefins Plant 4 (OLE 4) following the completion of a scheduled turnaround. The company has begun gradually delivering its key products, which are used as feedstock in GC’s continuous production of polyethylene (PE) resins. In addition, GC is supplying feedstock for polypropylene (PP) production to customers – PP resin manufacturers – to help ease market tightness.

GC’s olefins plants are distinguished by their high feedstock flexibility, enabling the processing of a wide range of feedstocks. Combined with integrated operations across other production units within the company’s complex, this enhances feedstock utilization and energy efficiency. In addition, GC’s fully integrated supply chain, spanning upstream to downstream operations, enables continuous production. OLE 4 has a maximum production capacity of 520,000 tons per year of ethylene, a key feedstock for GC’s PE resin production, and 256,000 tons per year of propylene, which is supplied to domestic PP resin producers.

The restart strengthens the continuity of domestic feedstock supply and further reinforces the stability of PE resin production, which remains adequately supplied. It will also help ease tightness in PP, which has been partially impacted by import constraints amid tensions in the Middle East.
