The origins of GC’s expertise in the petrochemical and chemical industries trace back to 1984, when National Petrochemical Public Company Limited (NPC) was established under the government’s strategic policy to develop Thailand’s first petrochemical plant. The initiative aimed to transform resources from the Gulf of Thailand into a foundation for future industrial development. In 1990, NPC began commercial production, marking the true beginning of Thailand’s petrochemical and chemical industry.

In 2005, NPC merged with Thai Olefins Public Company Limited (TOC) to form PTT Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTCH), which became Thailand’s largest olefins producer at the time. Later, in 2011, PTTCH merged with PTT Aromatics and Refining Public Company Limited (PTTAR), giving rise to PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC); the company you know today.

For over 35 years, GC has been built upon a strong foundation of experience and expertise in the petrochemical and chemical industries. This experience is not merely documented or confined to production lines; it is embedded in the DNA of every employee, passed down from generation to generation with deep understanding and pride.
