GC Ranked No. 1 by S&P Global for the 7th Consecutive Year First in the Global Chemicals Sector to Achieve This Milestone Reinforcing Its Positioning as an Innovative Organization Driving Differentiation for Sustainability

18 February 2026 – PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) has been ranked No. 1 for the seventh consecutive year, becoming the first company in the world in the Chemicals Sector to achieve this distinction in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2025 by S&P Global (formerly DJSI). GC has also been selected as a member of the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 for the 13th consecutive year, underscoring its role as an innovation-driven organization that creates tangible differentiation through business operations that balance Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions.
The company has effectively integrated sustainability into its business strategy. In 2025, GC received outstanding top scores in sustainable environmental policy and management systems, energy management, and climate change strategy. In addition, GC continues to accelerate the development of low-carbon product innovations, reinforcing the translation of policy into action to drive long-term stable growth while sustainably improving people’s quality of life.
Innovation Begins with Rethinking and Taking Action
Mr. Narongsak Jivakanun, Chief Executive Officer of GC, stated, “This achievement reflects GC’s commitment to creating differentiation through decisive action. Despite the volatility in the global economy and the petrochemical industry, we firmly believe that driving creative and differentiated innovation is the key to enhancing our competitiveness and enabling sustainable business growth.”
One clear example is the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). GC has leveraged its existing knowledge and expertise to modify its production processes to utilize Used Cooking Oil (UCO) as a feedstock, without the need to invest in building a new facility.
This approach has enabled GC to become Thailand's first SAF producer for the aviation industry. It has also enabled the company to further expand into the production of bio-based chemicals and bioplastics, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions while adding tangible value by maximizing the use of domestic waste resources.
In environmental stewardship, GC is committed to advancing its business alongside sustainable development, with a target of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The company has implemented several tangible initiatives, including enhancing efficiency across all production processes through advanced technologies and increasing the use of renewable and low-carbon energy. Through these diverse initiatives, GC has reduced cumulative greenhouse gas emissions by more than 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent between 2021 and 2025. In addition, the company continues to drive sustainability throughout its value chain by collaborating with suppliers and partners to promote concrete reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, GC has launched the “GC YOU Turn” initiative, a comprehensive innovation in post-consumer plastic waste management. The project collaborates with a network of more than 140 partner organizations across the public and private sectors, educational institutions, hospitals, and communities nationwide. The initiative encourages the public to return used clear PET and opaque HDPE plastic bottles at more than 400 designated Drop Points nationwide. The collected plastics are sorted at the source before being processed through recycling and upcycling into value-added products. This program is a key driver of the Circular Economy at the national level and has successfully returned more than 122,000 tons of used plastics to the recycling process.
In the social and community dimension, GC conducts its business while actively supporting and developing communities across all areas of its operations. The company strives to balance business performance and quality of life, while promoting job creation and income generation to enable communities to achieve sustainable self-reliance.
Through various skills development and community enterprise programs, GC seeks to ensure that business growth progresses hand in hand with the genuine development of local capabilities — strengthening communities and fostering sustainable growth.
The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is an internationally recognized sustainability evaluation conducted by S&P Global (formerly DJSI). More than 9,200 leading companies worldwide participate in the assessment.
The CSA evaluates corporate performance in line with sustainable development principles across all three ESG dimensions — Environment, Social, and Governance. The results are widely used by investors as a key consideration alongside other factors in their investment decisions.
