GC Achieves the Highest “A” Rating in Water Management from CDP for the 6th Consecutive Year Reducing Freshwater Withdrawal from Natural Water Sources Creating Structural Differentiation for the Industrial Sector

21 January 2026 – Bangkok: PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, or GC, has received an A rating (Leadership Level)—the highest level of recognition—for Water Security for 2025, for the sixth consecutive year, under the assessment framework of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a globally recognized sustainability assessment organization. The achievement comes from an evaluation of more than 22,100 participating companies worldwide, reflecting GC’s role as a global sustainability leader and its distinctive, systematic, and sustainable approach to water resource management.

GC’s differentiation lies not merely in managing water in compliance with standards, but in designing water-use systems across the entire value chain, integrating circular economy principles with innovation and technology to enhance efficiency, reduce freshwater withdrawal from natural sources, and ensure long-term water resource security.

GC has continuously applied Wastewater Reverse Osmosis (WWRO), an innovation that reuses highly treated wastewater that meets stringent standards across its production processes. This approach significantly reduces freshwater withdrawal from natural sources and represents a structural differentiation in industrial water management. In 2024, GC reduced water consumption by up to 1.8 million cubic meters per year, helping to mitigate environmental impacts while enhancing water-use efficiency across all production processes. Receiving an A rating for the sixth consecutive year underscores GC’s commitment to advancing water management standards beyond regulatory requirements, through rigorous environmental governance and the concrete integration of business strategy with sustainability goals. In the past year, GC also achieved outstanding scores in water pollution management, reaffirming the effectiveness of its systems and robust management practices. Beyond operations, GC further distinguishes itself through collaboration across sectors to strengthen long-term water resource security through ecosystem and watershed restoration initiatives. These include the “Forest Restoration and Water Conservation at Khao Huai Mahat, Rayong Province” project, as well as nationwide reforestation totaling over 21,000 rai. Together, these efforts reflect a balanced approach to water stewardship that encompasses environmental, community, and broader ecosystem dimensions.

CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is a public-interest organization focused on addressing climate change, with globally significant standards for carbon and climate change disclosure. It also operates the world’s largest online database of organizational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and its data is widely trusted by investors as a key input for investment decision-making. CDP’s assessment results are classified into eight levels, ranging from A to D.
