GC’s “Community Waste Model” Named Finalist at Global Sustainability Awards and Platts Global Energy Awards, Reinforcing its Leadership in Sustainable Recycling Management
PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, or GC, has reinforced the success of its sustainability efforts as its “Community Waste Model” project has gained international recognition by being named a finalist at two majors global awards platforms: the Global Sustainability Awards 2025 and the Platts Global Energy Awards 2025
At the Global Sustainability Awards 2025, organized by Reuters Events, the project was selected as one of the Top 12 Finalists in the Social Impact Award category, the most competitive category with 93 entries from around the world
The project was also named a finalist in the Corporate Impact Award category at the Platts Global Energy Awards 2025, organized by S&P Global, with the winners to be announced this December 2025 in New York City, United States

Being a finalist at both awards, organized by leading global media organizations, underscores the positive impact of the Community Waste Model project, which creates value across social, environmental, and economic dimensions through a social enterprise model that sustainably strengthens communities
Over the past five years, the Community Waste Model project has delivered tangible results, including:
- Establishing 13 community recycling waste management centers
- Collecting more than 1,150 tons of used plastics and returning them to the recycling system
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 2,064 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent
- Generating circulating income and strengthening communities with a total value of more than THB 33 million
This achievement further demonstrates the potential of the Community Waste Model as a comprehensive and sustainable approach to recycling management. The model can serve as an inspiration for accelerating Thailand’s transition toward a genuine circular economy
