("PTTGC USA"), which is a 100% owned company by PTT Chemical International Private Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTT Chemical Public Company Limited ("PTTCH")), had signed a membership interest purchase agreement with NatureWorks LLC ("NatureWorks") to purchase 50% stake in NatureWorks. Moreover, on October 19, 2011, PTTCH amalgamated with PTT Aromatics and Refining Public Company Limited ("PTTAR") and formed PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited ("the Company") and, hereby, assumed all rights, duties and obligations from both PTTCH and PTTAR. The Company would like to notify the investment progress that, on May 31, 2012, the Company has completed the investment transaction for 50% stake in NatureWorks in the amount of USD 150 million or approximately Baht 4,572 million, where this investment is in accordance with the Company's strategies. NatureWorks is a biopolymer company producing PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) based in the United States, with an approximate annual capacity of 140,000 tons. In addition, NatureWorks is a company that can commercially produce PLA, a biodegradable polymer, offering low carbon footprint, and has the properties comparable with petrochemical based polymers and fibers.
