This report covers our owned or operated businesses in Thailand and does not address the performance of our joint ventures, suppliers, contractors or partners unless otherwise noted.
Due to the amalgamation in 19th December 2011, PTTGC recognized the inherent limitations in our consolidation of PTTCH and PTTAR data due to the variation in data collection system for economic, social, safety and environmental indicators amongst our operations within PTTGC. PTTGC recognizes that our data will be affected by those limitation and continue to improve the integrity of our data by strengthening and standardizing our internal data collection system.
Determining Report Content
To address the challenges and leverage from enablers resulting from the global chemical trends, PTTGC has reviewed its sustainability focus through the analysis of the international scenario, of the stakeholder expectations, of the commitments taken and of the company performances. The process to identify sustainability focus i.e. material assessment is described in the following diagram. The sustainability focus has been approved by the CSR Committee on 6th February 2012. Thus each sustainability focus will need to be pursued with projects and initiatives defined by our divisions, companies and subsidiaries including in specific short and medium-term actions. PTTGC expects to report our goal and target in each sustainability focus in near future.
Alignment with External Guidelines
PTTGC reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) with GRI adherence level of Level A+. In addition,In addition, PTTGC supports the UN Global Compact Advanced Level covering human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
Assuring Our Reporting
Each year we strive to improve our data monitoring and measurement techniques which in turn increases the accuracy of sustainability data, this year the independent review and report assurance against GRI – G3 guidelines for level A+ is undertaken by KPMG Phoomchai Business Advisory Ltd. PTTGC aims to have our sustainability report verified by independent party on an annual basis.
