"It started with the idea of being brave enough to think and do something different where I work, so I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try something new. This gave me the opportunity to learn from my successes and failures, contributing to lessons and experiences that keep me moving forward."

When PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC) established the Customer Solution Center (CSC), a nerve center that plays a comprehensive role in providing customer service and cultivating management practices geared to innovation and product development, I also revamped my thinking patterns and the scope of my work in an effort to embrace change.

As a graduate of the Faculty of Petrochemical Engineering at Silpakorn University, my first job with PTTGC was as a technical support engineer responsible for assisting in the development of polymer products and providing technical services for customers. However, my work processes changed completely once the CSC was established. The technical responsibilities that I had handled for over six years broadened, becoming far more comprehensive.

I joined the CSC six months after it was established. This completely changed my responsibilities, which previously related only to technical practices, expanding them to providing customers with solutions that incorporate technical, marketing, business, and design principles.

Although my responsibilities increased significantly, I was able to apply my technical skillset to handle these changes. For example, delivering a new product design also requires the proper technical knowledge to make a sound decision. It only took me a little while to adapt to this new range of responsibilities.

As my duties and responsibilities expanded, I approached this as an important opportunity to build sustainability for the company and society, which is in line with the commitment I made on the first day I started working at PTTGC.

PTTGC maintains a leadership position in Thailand’s highly-competitive petrochemicals industry. At PTTGC, we achieve our strategic direction by broadening the company’s business in the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments. At the same time, we always highlight the importance of innovating, which contributes to both corporate and social sustainability.

After the CSC was established, I wanted to work for this department, as it clearly demonstrated PTTGC’s commitment to providing excellent service to customers that come to us for consultation and support. It’s important for me that the CSC always meets its objective of being a total solutions provider by striving to be our customers’ first choice.

All of our operations and services are delivered with passion and commitment, focused on creating value for the company and society in line with the four core behaviors of the GC SPIRIT.

It’s easy to think about creating something different. The hard part is actually doing it – and getting out of one’s comfort zone. In my experience, it allows you to either succeed or fail, but it’s important to take this step without fear. What you learn in the end after trying is what is truly valuable. You can really gain something from building on the lessons that you learn, and take pride in and become more confident in your work.
